One of Britain’s leading manufacturers of vinyl floor tiles is Manchester based company Polyflor. They specialise in the creation of natural effect tiles and planks that can replicate the look of substances such as hardwood, marble and stone. We have years of experience installing vinyl flooring and can testify that when it comes to durability, the planks and tiles supplied by Polyflor are amongst the very best.
Polyflor can trace its beginnings to the weaving company founded by James Halstead in 1915. A natural diversification process from woven textiles to rubberised fabrics led to the company producing its first hard-wearing flooring products by the 1930s. The company’s flotation on the stock exchange in 1948 was the beginning of a period of domestic and international expansion which saw it open manufacturing plants in Australia, South Africa and New Zealand. In the 1970s and 1980s, Polyflor launched many new ranges including safety flooring and studded rubber tiles. This century has seen Polyflor strengthen their portfolio through mergers and the continued creation of innovative flooring designs.
Like all manufacturing companies, Polyflor has an impact on the environment. However, what we like about Polyflor is their commitment to transparency and their constant striving to improve the sustainability of their products. They were the first vinyl flooring manufacturer to be awarded an individual A+ rating from the Building Research Establishment, an independent organisation dedicated to assessing the cradle-to-grave environmental impact of products.
Whether you are looking to cover a sports hall, a commercial kitchen or a public bathroom, Polyflor have what you need, and we’re proud to stock their products. To see the full range of floorings we stock, it is always worth popping into our showroom and taking a look at what we have available.
