Posted on: 6th March 2015

For most of us, waking up early in the morning, especially on particularly cold days, isn't much fun. However, we're sure that waking up to lovely warm floors would help you get out of bed a little easier in the mornings right? Under-floor heating is becoming an increasingly popular asset to have in many homes across the UK. At Reform Flooring we have a range of different flooring's to suit everyone's tastes, however, if you're looking for flooring that is compatible with under-floor heating then we have just the thing.

Junckers

We supply 14 mm and 22mm Solid Planks by Junckers, one of Europe's leading manufacturers in real solid pre-finished hardwood flooring. This wood flooring is suitable for use with under-floor heating systems without movement and comes in a wide range of shades, including:

  • Black Oak Boulevard: An extra wide luxurious Black Oak flooring which recreates the much sought-after 'bog oak' look.
  • Nordic Oak: This is a hard-wearing yet clear and interesting grain structure. Nordic Oak has a white toned surface applying Nordic elegance to the floor and enhancing the beautiful structure of the wood.
  • Dark Ash: Dark Ash has a very characteristic and vivid appearance with a beautiful contrast between the dark brown heartwood and the light parts of the wood.
  • Oak: Oak is a modern classic which is a warm and robust wood. It has the colour of ripe wheat and is extremely suitable for flooring. Over time, the natural ageing gives the wood a gold glow.

All of the Solid Planks are supplied with special Junckers Woodcare system, so you can maintain your flooring.

Benefits of installing under-floor heating

There are many benefits that come with installing under-floor heating, such as:

  • Comfort: Under-floor heating provides you with a much more comfortable environment to live in as the heat surrounds you leaving no cold spots unlike a radiator system.
  • Hygiene: Installing under-floor heating helps reduce house dust mites as the moisture content is too low to allure dust mites to live, giving asthma sufferers a much better living environment.
  • Space saving: Under-floor heating enables you to design your room using all the room space without having to work around radiators.
  • Heating maintenance: As there are no moving parts to an under-floor heating system, there is very little that can go wrong, resulting in no regular maintenance costs to incur.
  • Energy efficient: An average under-floor heating system costs anywhere between 15%-40% less than a conventional radiator system to run.
