Tofurei: One Year On

Last year, we installed flooring at Tofurei – a new vegan café and micro-soya dairy in the Norwich Lanes. The shop has been a huge success since it opened 12 months ago, serving a huge range of treats to customers and supplying local restaurants with their homemade tofu. Tofurei was a finalist in the 2017 Norfolk Food & Drink Awards’ Newcomer category. The team are in the process of opening another kitchen that will allow them to keep up with demand as well as offer cookery workshops. We caught up with them to see how they’re getting on (and how the flooring is holding up). 

The Tarasafe Ultra flooring we laid over a custom subfloor across the kitchen area has held up extremely well despite constant wear and installation of new appliances. One section of the floor had to be taken up to fix a leak, but this hasn’t compromised the finish of the flooring, or its non-slip properties. 

The hygienic vinyl flooring was treated to provide extreme resistance to soiling or staining, which we were pleased to see has kept the white floor white! 

With a 12-year warranty, we hope the team at Tofurei will be happy with their flooring for many years to come. Until the floor needs updating, we’ll keep popping by for their incredible sausage rolls and donuts!
