What To Expect From Reform Flooring: Installation

Posted on: 13th April 2015

If you've been following our blog for the past few weeks you will know that we've been taking you through the stages of buying a new floor covering. Our first blog explained the initial visit of the showroom, and last week's was about the process you'll expect when ordering your flooring. This week's blog is about the installation process of your flooring and the stages you will come across.

Arranging the Fitting

Once you have chosen your desired flooring, accepted our quote and Reform Flooring's terms and conditions we will book in your fitting on a date that is most convenient for you. This is usually two weeks after placing the order with us.

What happens when we arrive?

If you haven't had new flooring fitted before you might wonder how it is done and who installs it. When we visit your property we will bring all the necessary materials to complete the job, allowing us to complete the installation work within a minimal time frame. We make the necessary preparations to lay your flooring and install in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. An average installation would normally take 2 days to complete, one day for the preparation work and one day to install the flooring. Depending upon what type of flooring has been chosen we may need to deliver the flooring to your property prior to the installation taking place to allow the materials to acclimatise to the environment in your home.

Who carries out the installation?

We have a team of highly trained and experienced fitters who install the flooring for you. Our fitters are loyal and long-standing employees who are fully CRB checked and work in line with our in-house standards. We perform regular spot checks on their fitting jobs and all our fitters attend full training sessions with our chosen flooring manufacturers. By doing this it allows our fitters to become fully competent in the installation of all our supplied flooring types, providing them with the right skills to finish any job to high standard.

What happens to my existing flooring?

We remove and dispose of your existing floor covering and remove it from your property. Once this is done, we take any recyclable elements of the flooring and recover them. All other parts are placed in a skip at our service centre.

We hope this week's blog has helped you understand what we do during the installation of your flooring. Look out for next week's blog post on the signing off of your flooring.
